Configure VTAP PRO in Local mode

The VTAP100-PRO-BW in Local mode, can be updated by adding or modifying the required settings in the config.txt file, in the same way as other VTAP reader models, described in Configure a VTAP reader. This can be done by opening the file from the VTAP file system in a text editor, or sending a complete replacement config.txt file to the VTAP reader over Zmodem. If there are only a few settings to be changed, you could update those settings with Remote management commands or Dynamic configuration commands.

Note: Always use if you need frequent configuration changes. Frequent updates to the config.txt file, whether using a text editor or Remote management commands Remote management commands, are not recommended as this will cause excessive wear to flash memory.

VTAP commands can be sent using the COM or Serial RS‑232 interfaces. (You will find help with these in Integrating VTAP with other systems.) These include all the commands listed in Commands for VTAP PRO in Local mode only such as those for driving relays (more in section Control the VTAP100-PRO-EXP1 expansion board in Local mode).
