VTAP25 Change Notice - Pin assignment - PCN00003
Product(s) affected: VTAP25-MOD
Change: Core firmware from v2.4.0.0 onwards will alter the function of pins 11, 19 and 20 of a VTAP25‑MOD. Other functionality and features are unchanged.
Reason for change: Improvement to control of sleep-wake behaviour.
Impact:
-
The pin out will be updated as follows (changed pins highlighted):
Pin no.
Old pin name
New pin name
Type
Function
11
NC
RFU
Input/Output
Reserved for future use. Recommend connecting this pin to host GPIO, so that its functionality can be used when supporting firmware is released.
19
WAKE
WAKE_IN
Input
Driven by the host processor to wake VTAP25 from deep sleep mode. Details with next firmware release.
20
GPIO (RFU)
WAKE_OUT
Output
Driven high by VTAP25 when a tap payload or other event is available to be read. Can also be used to wake up the host processor.
-
If you were not using sleep-wake behaviour you will not notice a difference.
-
If you have already finalised your design using pin 19 as a WAKE output, this can be accommodated with a custom VTAP25 configuration option, please contact vtap-support@dotorigin.com for details.
How do I tell if I have a VTAP25 module with this new pin assignment?
-
All VTAP25 v1 modules supplied from June 2025 , when used with firmware version v2.4.0.0 onwards, will follow this new pin assignment.
As new firmware supporting these pins becomes available, details about their use will be found in
