VTAP connectivity firmware release notes

IP‑connected readers such as the VTAP100 PRO contain an additional processor module responsible for wireless or Ethernet comms. This uses VTAP connectivity firmware (vtapcfw.dat), separate from the core VTAP firmware. We always recommend using the latest firmware releases, to benefit from the full set of VTAP features and any fixes to date. The previous release version remains available, in case you find that you need to revert for any reason. (You can always download latest or previous release connectivity firmware from https://www.vtapnfc.com/download).

Note: VTAP100 PRO readers in Cloud mode will be automatically updated by VTAP Cloud when appropriate. Manually updating the firmware on a reader in Cloud mode is not normally necessary and should only be done under the advice of Dot Origin support.

Some features can only be used on certain hardware models, or when a certain minimum version of VTAP connectivity firmware is being used alongside the latest core VTAP firmware (currently v2.2.7.0). Please check whether you have the right hardware to take advantage of new features.
